My dinner last night? Pizza Fries. Homemade Pizza Fries. I was always a little skeptical about baked fries; I always thought they wouldn’t have the same taste as deep fried fries (and from past experiences, baking them at high temperatures for long periods of time does make it crunchy, but they usually come out dry) The trick? drizzle a bit of olive oil on top of the fries before baking. Want to take a shot at making your own pizza fries? Here’s what you’ll need:
-1 bag of frozen fries (or, you can slice up your own potatoes)
-mozzarella cheese (enough to smother the fries in)
-olive oil, salt, pepper, oregano
Directions: Pre-heat over to 450 degrees. Layer the fries first (for an even amount of crispiness, have one layer on a baking pan/dish), drizzle olive oil on top, season with salt, pepper, & oregano, proceed with cheese and pepperoni. Pop it in the over for 20-25 minutes, and viola!
Try your own version of pizza fries; add your favorite kinds of pizza toppings (mushrooms, garlic, italian sausage, ham & pineapple), try different cheeses (pepperjack, american, gruyere), and maybe even some pizza sauce!
